Menu: Medhu Vada (fried lentil donut), Gobi Masala Curry (cauliflower and spices), Kanchipurum Idly (lentil patties with cashews), and Coconut Uthappam. Has full thali (rice, vegetables, papadam, soup and raita). Masala Dosa is large crepe with potatoes and onions. Badam Halava is ground almonds and honey cooked in butter. Coconut and cilantro sauce is good.
Comments: Good, inexpensive Indian food. Lunch special is a good deal. Full dinners from $12 to $17. Most dishes under $7. One of the better vegetarian Indian restaurants in New York City. Price: $$.
Directions: From Long Island Exwy, take Queens Blvd exit (#19) towards Grand Ave/Rte 25, then go west on Queens Blvd ¾ mile, at Broadway turn right and go 1 mile (northwest), at 74th St turn right and go 3 blocks, at 35th Ave turn left and go 1 block, at 73rd St turn left and this place is 1 block down. In the "Little India" area of Jackson Heights.

Vegetable kebabs, rice, curry vegetables, salads, soups, casseroles, samosas and pakoras. Fresh juices.
Comments: Good place. Good atmosphere. Run by disciples of Sri Chinmoy. Have free meditation classes in the evening and on weekends. Got an award as the best vegetarian restaurant in Queens. International brunch on Sundays.

Directions: This place is located inside a Hare Krishna temple a few blocks south of Downtown Brooklyn. When you enter the building, make an immediate right and go down the stairs and the restaurant is located in the basement in a large room with a nice decor. Subway stops: Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets (A, C, G) and then head east on Schermerhorn Street (turn left when coming out of station) and this place is on the left at the end of the block inside in a large three story building. This place is on the same side of the street as the station stop. Nevins Street subway stop (2,3, 4 & 5) and DeKalb Ave stop (B, M, Q, R).
