Considered to be one of the best vegetarian restaurants in New York.
Busy, little place. Freshly made dishes with organic products. Reasonable

Good selection on menu. Been open for around 9 years. Can ask for
ingredients of any dishes. The Tofu Club sandwich made of grilled
tofu, tempeh bacon, lettuce and tomato is recommended. If you are
in the area, it is the place to go to. Celebrities often visit here.
My friend who used to cook here (she makes great vegan cakes) told
me that several times Woody Harrelson asked her for recipes. She
also said he was an extremely nice, down-to-earth person. A newspaper
article on the front window says which tables celebrities like to
sit at. In their brochure they write: "We at the Candle Café
are dedicated to your health through our commitment to excellent
vegetarian cuisine." Judged to be the best vegan, organic restaurant
in the city by Times Out magazine. Has their cookbook. Named Best
