Web Sites &Techniques to Avoid
There are certain techniques that websites use that are considered to be immoral by the web community, and no reputable website would use these techniques. Sometimes though you will see these dirty techniques even on reputable sites, but usually the techniques they use on reputable site will only slightly go over the line. One of the worst techniques is the un-closeable window and even worst is when you close a window then one or several more pop up. Then the more you try to close the windows the more new ones pop up. These are mainly used by pornography sites. Often people open these sites by mistake or out of curiosity. You then find out that no matter what you do to close them the worst it gets. You may then be forced to shut down your computer, or you can reduce all the windows so they are still open but you cannot see them. If it really gets out of hand you can just reduce these pages and open another window to continue your web experience. But regardless what you do more windows can continue to pop up for no apparent reasons (they are often on a timer). They can even put an ICON on you desktop, which can often be very embarrassing if other people use your computer and see several sex site icons on your computer. Or they can place several of their sites on your favorite web site list without telling you. Anyone who would use these techniques is not to be trusted. If you decide to purchase something on one of these site or if they require you to enter your credit card information to view the site for a trail period, do not be surprised if your credit card gets charged for the use of several other websites. When they bill (they say it is for your own protection), they often use innocent sounding names like “Nature’s Path” or “Journey Inc.” so it may go past you when you check you credit card bill. Other dirty techniques are to send you an email that they make appear to be something other than what it really is. Be highly suspicious when you receive an email with an innocent looking description such as “Haven’t heard from you in a while.” or “The information you wanted.” Then when you open the email they tell you to “click here for more information.” The more information is often a porno site or an ad page to sell you anyone of so many products. Even worst by clicking the link you may be allowing them to send a file with a virus in it to you. It is now illegal to send unsolicited emails that do not give a general idea what the email is really about in the message line. This is especially true for sexually explicit subjects. So if a person is already committing a crime why would they not commit a crime to also take your money? In general it is a really good idea to not trust any email from a company that you do not know as it is considered bad Internet business practice to send unsolicited emails to people. You know that without a doubt you should not do business with any site that you have never heard of and does not have their contact information listed with a valid address and phone number. Some sites try to have a name that is similar to another famous site. They can even copy the look and design of the real site. The general rule is if it seems to be too good to be true it is definitely a con. PayPal
or Ebay Scam These types of emails can also be sent to you about other web site too. An important point is that when you go to PayPal always go there by typing into the address box the PayPal URL (www.paypal.com) to go to the site. Increase
