Natural Nirvana Company Policies and Reason for Being.

Ram Narayana Singh Bhatti, the ex-Dewan of the state of Bikaner, built this temple in 1841. The Deities in this temple are Radha-Manoharji and Sri Radha. To the left of these Deities, on the altar, is a murti of Mira Bai with kartals in her hand. On the altar there are also the processional Deities, Radha-Mohanaji and Radha. There is a side room in this temple where Mira Bai would meditate on her Deity, Girdhar-Gopala.

Mira Bai came to Vrindavana when Jiva Gosvami was there. She was born in the village of Kudki, in Jodhpur state, in Rajasthan. Her father was Samanta Ratan Singh. She was married to prince Bhojraji, the eldest son of Maharana Samgram Singh of Chittor. Her husband died after they were married for four years. Her husband’s brother Bikramjit Singh became the Rana of Chittor. He tried to stop Mira Bai’s worship of Girdhar-Gopala (Krishna) and her dancing in ecstasy before the Deity. It is said that he tried to kill her by sending her a poisonous snake, which was put into a box. When she opened the box she found a shalagrama-shila inside. This shila is in this temple.

Because of the way she was treated by her bother-in-law she was forced to leave Chittor and came to Vrindavana. She built a mud temple and spent her time meditating on Girdhar-Gopala.
She met Jiva Gosvami in Vrindavana. It is said that at first Jiva Gosvami refused to meet Mira Bai because he never met any women. Mira Bai replied that the only male in Vrindavana was Krishna. Jiva Gosvami is then said to have accepted her high level of enlightenment and he met with Mira Bai. It is said that she merged with Ranchad Lalji in Dwarka, with the Deity of Girdhar-Gopala clasped to her bosom.

How To Get Here This small temple is down a small road not far from the Radha Damodara temple. From the Radha Damodara temple you make a left and go to the first intersection (50m, 150 ft). You make a right and then a quick left (10m, 30 ft), and this temple is about 100m (300 ft) down the road, on the right

Temple Timings This temple is open from 7.30 am to 12 noon and 5 to 8 pm.
