In this temple are the beautiful Deities of Radha Rasabihari
and the Ashta (eight) Sakhis: (1) Lalita Sakhi, (2) Visakha Sakhi,
(3) Campakalata Sakhi, (4) Citra Sakhi, (5) Tungavidya Sakhi, (6)
Indulekha Sakhi, (7) Rangadevi Sakhi, (8) Sudevi Sakhi. This temple
was founded by the king of Hetampur (in the Birbhum District in Bengal)
in 1889. The king was a disciple of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati
Maharaja. The present temple was built around 1930.
How To Get Here This temple is near
the Madana-Mohan temple. This temple is fairly hard to find, because
even though it is a good-sized temple, it cannot be seen from the
road. If you just walked out of Advaita Vat you make a left and walk
about 30m (100 feet). You turn right at the road here and walk about
20m (60 feet) and there is a doorway, that is just past a road going
to the left. You enter this doorway, which looks like someone’s
home, and the temple is to your right, about 30m (100 feet) away.
Temple Timings Summer: Mangala arati
- 5 am; Darshan is 7 to 11.30 am and 4 to 8 pm. Winter: Mangala arati
- 5 am; Darshan is 7 am to 12.30 pm and 4 to 8 pm.
