PEAS AND PEANUTS

• 2 lb. peas
• 1/2 cup raw peanuts
• 4 Tablespoon ghee
• pinch asafoetida
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
• 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
• 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1 Tablespoon ground coriander
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon allspice

Heat the ghee in a frying pan. Add a pinch of asafoetida. Add peanuts and cook until light golden brown, add peas and stir lightly. Add salt and spices one at a time and stir until all are well mixed. Cook until peas are tender.
