This is one of my favorite places to eat at. They have a tendency to be vegetarian-friendly and healthy. I can definitely recommend this place.

They have a detailed list the ingredients of all their dishes, which they will gladly let you see if you request it.

Their Caesar Dressing, Combo Sauce, Signature Sauce, Horseradish Sauce all contain eggs. The Ancho Lime Sauce contains chicken fat.

The Corn & Green Chile Chowder contains ham. The Asiago Cheese Bisque contains chicken broth. The Forest Mushroom Soup contains chicken base. The Fire Roasted Vegetable Bisque contains chicken base. The French Onion has a beef base. The Broccoli Cheddar Soup contains a chicken base. The Baked Potato Soup contains bacon. The Creamy Country Asparagus Soup contains milk products and Tabasco sauce.

They have a great selection of baked breads, a selection of veggie sandwiches, soups (they indicate which ones on vegetarian) and a great selection of exotic salads.

Usually there is a selection of at least one vegetarian soup, which is usually either vegetarian black bean soup, which is really good and reasonably priced, or the Garden Vegetable Soup. They clearly mark on their menu board which soups are vegetarian.

The French bread contains eggs.

Question to Panera About the Sugar That They Use

Your ingredients for many of your breads you list 'sugar', can you tell me if it's refined sugar from an animal bone charcoal filter or if it's a vegan friendly product. thanks.

we purchase from many different suppliers and, although we recommend
vegan-friendly processing, we cannot confirm that all suppliers follow these recommendations.

According to a letter I received from them, there is no animal rennet in their cheeses.

The Internet is a great resource for getting information about ingredients in fast food joints. Many of the places list the ingredients for all items that they sell. Most of the sites have a nutritional section, which lists a contact email address. I found that by emailing this contact address that I usually got a quick, efficient, detailed response. Often I was sent a full ingredient list within 24 hours. Plus I was able to get a response on questions such as whether listed mono- and diglycerides are derived from a vegetarian source.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please take into consideration that the information in this section is coming from many different sources and therefore some of it may not be correct. Different sources from the same fast food place may give totally different information, so if you are in doubt, it is best to check the information out yourself.

Also I would request representatives from different fast food restaurants that read information here that if something is not correct to please send me the correct information. In this section I am not trying to convince people to not eat at these fast food places, but I am just trying to make it easier for vegetarians and vegans to find a place to eat.

Vegan Fastfood Restaurant Selection - This is a really nice site with a lot of detail. Because the information on their site is not regularly compiled, they may not have some of the information that is on this site.
