We are also doing research work to publish information on companies and products that are free of animal products & animal testing and much more We Greatly Need Your Help Seattle has a great selection of vegetarian places and natural food stores. It has some of the best vegetarian restaurants in the country including Café Ambrosia, Carmelita and Café Flora. Seattle is one of the ten healthiest cities in America and it has the fourth lowest heart disease rate in the country. There is the active Vegetarians of Washington (http://www.vegofwa.org) organization, who organizes VegFest, which is a healthy vegetarian food festival held in March every year at the Seattle Center. EarthSave (http://earthsave.org) does plenty of good work here in Seattle and also helps organize the Taste of Health vegetarian food fair. The Center of Vegan Organic Education (http://www.veganorganiced.org) has a nice informative web site and organizes events in the Seattle area. The popular, organic, gourmet vegan Café Ambrosia, on the east shore of Lake Union., is an upscale place with a large menu with over 100 excellent well-presented dishes. The very popular, pleasant Café Flora, located a couple miles east of downtown Seattle in the Madison Valley neighborhood, has an excellent International menu that changes weekly. It is well-located and has a beautiful décor with an indoor patio with a skylight, shrubs and a fountain. This place gets really good ratings for food and service. Many people consider that this place has the best vegetarian food in Seattle. The popular, fully vegetarian Carmelita serves excellent, creative vegetarian International and Mediterranean food. It is a happening, upscale place that has a beautiful décor with an outdoor patio garden. The casual Globe Café and Bakery has an excellent selection of vegan food including excellent baked goods. There is a good selection of vegetarian-friendly places on the hip Capitol Hill. The fully vegan Teapot Vegetarian House serves good Asian food that includes a wide selection of vegan mock meat dishes. The mainly vegetarian Gravity Bar, in the Broadway Market on Capitol Hill, has a large menu with a selection of excellent macrobiotic and raw foods. It has a casual, hip, eclectic atmosphere. Also on Capitol Hill is Vegete, which is a really good place for a fast meal that serves a large selection of vegetarian sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads and breakfast dishes. Also on the hill is Elysian Brewing Company, which serves vegan hot dogs and vegan field roast sandwiches. The fully vegetarian Chinese Bamboo Garden, near the Space Needle, has a large selection of over 100 excellent vegetarian dishes including hot pots, sizzling plates. Sesame Chicken, Szechwan Chicken and Corn Chowder Soup. There are several excellent vegetarian-friendly place in the University
District of Seattle Also in the University District is the fully vegetarian Silence-Heart-Nest Restaurant, which is run by followers of the Indian guru Sri Chinmoy, It is a pleasant, peaceful place that has a large menu serving an excellent selection of Asian, Indian and American dishes. The happening, sociable Café Venus is an excellent vegetarian-friendly restaurant that gets high ratings. It is a great place to hang out in a pleasant atmosphere. Cyber-Dogs Internet Café serves vegetarian hog dogs, coffee, espresso and pastries. The Essential Baking Company, in Seattle's Gas Works
Park in Fremont, is a mainly vegetarian organic bakery and café
that has a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The popular, fully vegetarian Green Cat Café has an excellent selection of delicious tasting dishes served in a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere. Hillside Quickie and Vegan Sandwich Shop serves a
large variety of sandwiches including Crazy Jamaican Burger, TLT and
Flaming BBQ Burger. Pizza Pi is a vegan pizzeria that has some great vegan pizzas and offers a selection of mock meats and soy cheese to put on them. The popular, fully vegetarian Sunlight Café serves an excellent selection of American and International dishes. This casual, leisure place is the oldest vegetarian restaurants in town The Seattle area has a large amount of excellent health food stores. There are six PCC natural food stores, which are excellent supermarket type places that have very good delis. There are also a Whole Foods Makret and Madison Market, both of which have large selection of organic produce and excellent delis that have a large selection of vegetarian dishes.
