Hours: Monday to Saturday 5 pm to 8 pm (or until the food is all gone, the Pizza Night and Lasagne night are usually the most popular).
100% Vegetarian International & Indian. Often uses organic ingredients.
Mneu: The menu changes daily, which is listed on the website. Most items are available a la carte. Usually on Monday, Tuesday and sometimes Thursday they serve Indian. On Saturday, the menu is usually an assortment of pizza slices, calzones and salad. On Friday the menu is usually Lasagne, a vegetable dishes such as Asparagus & Roasted Peppers, homemade bread-roll and spring mix salad. On Wednesday and Thursday they usually serve International cuisine and sometimes Indian meals. Examples of International main dishes are Eggplant Parmesan, Granny's Macaroni & Cheese (made with organic noodles and rennet-free Cabot cheddar), Falafels wraps, veggie Submarine Sandwiches and other delicious choices. Side dishes vary and usually include a salad with homemade dressings and homemade whole-grain rolls, and soups such as Vegetable Barley Soup or bean soup. Other excellent sides are Oven Baked Potatoes. Daily they make two or three desserts such as Heavenly CheeseCake, Shrikand (a thick homemade yogurt, Carrot Cake, Gulab jamuns (an Indian milk-sweet), Rasa Malai (a light sweet fresh cheese balls floating in cardamom flavored condensed milk) and other options.
Comments: As this place is just a few miles from where I live, I go here often and really love this place and of course I was really happy when they opened this place. The food is usually delicious and is prasadam, pure & spiritual. Everything is homemade fresh, including the salads dressings and sauces. Highly recommended for a quick meal to eat there or take with you.
Comment on Their Website: We know that great food does more than nourish the body. Food prepared with love in an optimum atmosphere nurtures body, mind and spirit. We use garden fresh organic produce whenever possible. All our plates and take-out containers are EcoWare, a "paper" that is made from 100% sugarcane fibers. Absolutely no trees were harmed in the process. Your cutlery is made from 100% non-GMO corn starch. Help stop landfill growth - our products are biodegradable and compost accordingly.
Catering Info: Caters for special events, office meetings and marriages. Call 386-462-9009 for catering and leave us a message. They offer an excellent selection of catered options. Here are a few of the items that they can make and they will create a menu just for your needs. Some examples main dishes that they can make are Baked Ziti, Cabbage Patvadis (Mock Crab Cakes), Eggplant Parmesan, Eggplant Peas Potato Curry, Grilled Vegetables with Basil Pesto, Kofta in tomato sauce (grated mixed veggies and chickpea flour balls fried and soaked in lightly spiced tomato sauce), a selection of Indian meals, Matar Panir (tomatoes, peas, panir and spices) with Rice, Rice, Dahl, Polenta Pizza organic cornmeal crust topped with caponata (eggplant, tomato, capers, olives, peppers and basil), Spinach Cheese Tart (organic spinach and feta cheese, herbs and filo pastry), Veggie Nut Loaf with fresh tomato sauce and several other options. Some side dishes they can make are Skewers of Grilled Veggies, Spicy Soba Noodle Stir Fry, Quinoa Tabouli Salad, Sauteed Spinach and Pinenuts, Kachori (spicy potatoes stuffed inside flaky pastry) & Chutney, Pakora (vegetables in spicy chickpea flour batter), Spanish Rice, Chickpea Feta Salad, Rice with vermicelli and chickpeas, Greek Salad with lemon yogurt dressing, Mashed Organic Yellow Potatoes, Homemade Biscuits, and Cole Slaw. Meals can include Homemade Dinner Rolls and Spring Mix Salad with an assortment of salad dressing of your choice. They also offer an excellent selection of International and Indian sweet, some examples of which can be seen in the Menu section above.
Other Info: A meal is a suggested $8 donation. Accepts checks and cash only, but plan to accept credit cards in the future. Dinner is serves in the lobby of the temple building. You can pick it up to-go, or dine under the tent. Counter service with a few tables to eat there if you like. Mainly take-out. Everyone is welcome.
Dirctions: Located in the temple building at the Hare Krishna community, which is on a farm that protects cows. From 1-75 coming south: Take Exit 399 (Alachua, High Springs) and turn south (left) towards Alachua. At the second light in Alachua, turn left onto SR 235, in the direction of the gas station on the left. After 2.6 miles, turn left into NW 112th Blvd, which is a dirt road. Go about 100 yards and turn left and the he temple building is a few hundred yards down, where you can park on the right. From 441 coming from Gainesville: Take 441 north towards Alachua. At the first light in Alachua where the convenient store is with the gas pumps on the right, then turn right onto SR 235. After 2.6 miles, turn left into NW 112th Blvd, which is a dirt road. Go about 100 yards and turn left and the he temple building is a few hundred yards down, where you can park on the right.

Indian Vegetarian Feast. Menu changes weekly.
Comments: There is a vegetarian feast on Sunday at 5:30 pm. Besides the feast there is kirtana (public chanting of Hare Krishna) and a Bhagavad Gita class.
Directions: From I-75, take Alachua/High Springs exit (Hwy 441 south) #78, and go towards Alachua (turn right if coming from Gainesville) for 1 mile to the light. Then turn left onto Rte 235. This place is 2½ miles down on the left. There is a sign outside that says Hare Krishna Farm.

Comments: Meals are prepared at Govinda's Restaurant in Alachua. Whenever possible organically grown local produce is used. Call them to have the meals delivered. Very reasonably priced. Recommended.

Have a selection of fresh juices and an excellent selection of smoothies such as Madhavi's Going Nuts (Almond Milk, Nut Butter, Dates & Maple Syrup), Tropical Treat (Fresh Papaya, Mango, Coconut Milk & Maple Syrup), Pina Colada (Pineapple & Coconut Milk), Brazil Nut Milk (Brazil Nuts, Dates, Coconut Oil & Agave) and Pink Drink (Strawberry, Rose & Milk). Other drinks they serve are Mango Lassi (mango & yogurt), daily brewed Teeccino (hot or iced), coffee, espresso, Latte, Mocha Raspberry Latte, Vanilla Frappe, Caramel Frappe, fresh brewed Organic Iced Tea, Sparkling Mineral Water and more.
Comments: Excellent, delicious food. Friendly, efficient service. The managers are great. Eco-friendly. Use natural cleaners. Displays local artist works. Nice decor. Very clean. Kid friendly with an area for children to play. Highly recommended. Really nice people. Pleasant atmosphere. The baked goods are fantastic and the baker when she has previous baked at two excellent restaurants in New York City she baked at the Candle Cafe and the vegan Annapurna Restaurant in the East Village. Plays peaceful and spiritual, ethnic music. This place is a great place to stop for a quick, delicious vegetarian meal while traveling to and from Florida.
Other Info: Full table service. Accepts credit cards. Price: Inexpensive-Medium. Non-smoking. Caters. Seats 40. Free wireless internet. Have three comfortable chairs for seating while waiting for take-out. They sell steel containers for regular customers to use for take-out.
Events: They have a room next door for regular and special events such as dance classes, open mic' night, music, yoga, photography and more.
Directions: This place is conveniently located off I-75, which is the main highway that visitors to Florida will take if they are coming or going to from Atlanta and the Midwest or Texas going or coming from Orlando, Miami or Tampa. From I-75, take the Alachua exit and then go east on Hwy 441 about one mile towards Alachua past the Food Lion Shopping Center (on the left) and the Hickcock Shopping Center (on the right) and this place is in a small strip shopping about area that has 5 shops (between All Cuts $7 and Alachua Prints) in it on the left hand side. It is about a half mile north-west from the intersection of Hwy 4441 and Hwy 235. Alachua is about 15 mile northwest of Gainesville, right off I-75.
