Fast
Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal by
Eric Schlosser - This is a great book that describes the negative side
of the fast-food industry. It discusses how the meat industry often covers
over the sale of extremely diseased meal often with the help of political
parties. The author did interviews with many people in the fast food and
animal slaughter industry. The author often paints these industries so
negatively it shocked me that these people ever cooperated with them.
It amazes me how they can't see that they are doing something extremely
wrong. The author points out that he has been criticized by the fast food
industry and the Republican party for how they are presented in this book.
He challenged them if they can find any dicrepancies that he would gladly
remove them, but they never got back to him except for a few minor issues.
Discusses what natural flavoring and coloring are and how they are different
than chemical flavoring and coloring. Tells why natural coloring and flavoring
is often bad for vegetarians. This is a well research, well presented

MAD
COWBOY Plain Truth from the Cowboy Who Won't Eat Meat by
Howard F Lyman
This book is an excellent introduction to the negative effects the production
and eating of beef has on people that eat it. This very popular book gets
excellent reviews from its readers. Howard Lyman's testimony on The Oprah
Winfrey Show revealed the deadly impact of the livestock industry on our
well-being. It not only led to Oprah's declaration that she'd never eat
a burger again, it sent shock waves through a concerned and vulnerable
public. Persuasive, straightforward, and full of the down-home good humor
and optimism of a son of the soil, Mad Cowboy is both an inspirational
story of personal transformation and a convincing call to action for a
plant-based diet—for the good of the planet and the health of us
